  2. 1 cup soft butter, real butter only

  3. 2 tablespoons vanilla

  4. 3 cups flour

  5. 2/3 cup sugar

  6. 2 eggs

  7. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  1. Cream butter until light and fluffy.

  2. Add sugar. Gradually stir in vanilla.

  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

  4. Blend in flour and salt. Mix well.

  5. Wrap dough and chill for at least 2 hours.

  6. Lightly flour a pastry cloth and rolling pin.

  7. Roll dough to about 1/8 inch thickness.

  8. Cut into desired shape.

  9. Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheets.

  10. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or until lightly brown.

  11. Cool, frost and decorate.

  12. Makes 5 dozen.
