  1. 3 lb whole chicken

  2. 2 carrots, sliced

  3. 2 onions, sliced

  4. 2 celery stalks with leaves,

  5. -cut in 1 1 ts basil

  6. 2 ts salt

  7. 1/2 ts black pepper

  8. 1/2 c chlcken broth or wine
