  1. 12 asparagus spears, medium sized

  2. 1tbsp olive oil

  3. Freshly ground black pepper

  4. 1 pack of 6 slices of Parma ham

  1. Set the grill to high. Trim the asparagus, so that the stems are as long as the width of the slices of Parma ham. Put the spears on a sturdy baking sheet, drizzle with oil and sprinkle with black pepper. Grill for 5 mins, until just softening.

  2. Allow spears to cool and cut each piece of ham in half widthways. Wrap each spear in a half-piece of ham, put back on the baking sheet and grill for 5 mins, until the ham begins to crisp. Serve warm.
