  1. 1/4 cup sugar

  2. 1/4 cup brown sugar

  3. 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

  4. 2 tablespoons corn syrup

  5. dash salt

  6. 3 tablespoons apple brandy or Apple Schnapps

  7. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 6 minutes longer. Watch to make sure it doesn't boil over. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Serve warm with bread pudding.

  2. Makes about 1 cup.
