  1. 1 TBSP Butter

  2. 1 TBSP flour

  3. 1/2 cup milk

  4. 1/8 tsp garlic powder

  5. 1/8 tsp onion powder salt and pepper to taste

  6. 1/2 cup shredded cheddar Swiss or Mexican blend cheese

  7. 1 can sliced potatoes

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan; blend in the flour. Add the milk gradually and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add the seasonings and 1/4 cup cheese, mixing well. Combine the potatoes and sauce and put into 2 individual 1 cup au gratin dishes, or a 3 cup baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden. Garnish with chopped green onions or fresh snipped chives if desired. Yield: serves 2 Notes: Change the cheese according to what you have on hand.
