  1. Whole Wheat Pita Bread , cut into triangles

  2. Pita Chips

  3. Hummus:

  4. 6 Medium Garlic Cloves , or to taste

  5. 15 oz cans Great Northern Beans , drained and rinsed

  6. 1/4 cup Sesame Paste--tahini

  7. 1/4 cup Fresh Lemon Juice

  8. 4 Tbsp Water

  9. 2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  10. 1 Tbsp Plus 1/2 Tsp Reduced Sodium Soy Sauce

  11. 1 1/2 tsp Ground Cumin

  12. 3/4 tsp Salt

  13. 1/2 tsp Ground Cayenne Pepper

  14. Checca:

  15. 2 cups Chopped Grape or Cherry Tomatoes

  16. 2 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

  17. 1/2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  18. 1/2 tsp Salt

  19. Fresh Ground Pepper , to taste

  1. Hummus:

  2. In a food processor fitted with a steel blade, process the garlic cloves until finely minced. Stop the processor to scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the beans, tahini, lemon juice, water, olive oil, soy sauce, cumin, salt, pepper and cayenne, then process until combined. Stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the bowl. Continue to process until smooth. Place the hummus in a serving bowl or plate.

  3. Checca:

  4. In a medium bowl, toss together all the Checca ingredients.

  5. Place the hummus in a serving bowl or plate. Arrange the Checca on top. Surround hummus with pita triangles and pita chips, then serve. Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
