  1. 2 21 oz apple pie filling

  2. 1 tsp Chinese five spice powder, divided

  3. 1 8 1/2 oz pkg corn muffin mix

  4. 4 tbsp butter, softened

  5. 1/3 cup milk

  6. 1/3 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese

  7. 8 fully cooked brown and serve breakfast sausage links

  8. 2 tbsp sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spoon pie filling into a 9 inch deep dish pie plate. Stir in 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice powder. In a small bowl, combine corn muffin mix and butter with a fork until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk and cheese with a spoon. Spread over pie filling. Arrange fully cooked sausage links, in a spoke design, over corn muffin batter. In a small bowl, combine sugar and remaining five spice powder. Bake 30-35 minutes, or until corn muffin batter is set.
