  1. 4 cups milk

  2. 2 cups half and half or whole milk

  3. 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate pieces

  4. 1 tsp. instant espresso coffee powder

  5. 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

  6. 1/2 tsp. ground chipotle chile pepper Ground cinnamon, optional Chocolate curls, optional

  1. In a 4 quart slow cooker, mix milk, half and half, chocolate pieces, coffee powder, the 1 tsp. cinnamon and ground chipotle chile pepper. Cover and cook on low heat for 4 hours or on high heat for 2 hours, whisking vigorously once halfway through cooking time. Serve at once or keep warm, covered on warm setting or low heat setting for up to 2 hours. Before serving, whisk well. To serve, ladle hot chocolate into heatproof mugs or cups. If desired, sprinkle each serving with cinnamon and/or chocolate curls. Serves 12
