  1. Taco Filling for the Crockpot

  2. Serves 4. 1 pound ground beef

  3. 1 can refried beans or 1 can pinto beans

  4. 1 green pepper, chopped

  5. 3/4 cup brown rice

  6. 3/4 cup water

  7. 1 cup prepared salsa

  8. 1 packet taco seasoning mix

  9. 1/4 tsp garlic powder

  10. 1/4 tsp pepper

  11. 1/4 tsp seasoned salt

  12. If you are using a can of pinto beans, put them in a fry pan with

  13. a tablespoon of oil over medium heat, stirring often and mashing

  14. the beans with your spoon or spatula. Add the taco seasoning at

  15. this time. Cook until thickened and add to the crock pot.

  16. Mix the taco seasoning and the refried beans in the crock pot. Add

  17. the rice, water, and salsa.

  18. Brown the ground beef with the green pepper, seasoning with the

  19. garlic powder, pepper, and seasoning salt. Drain off grease and add

  20. beef to the crock pot. Give everything a good stir and turn to high

  21. heat for four hours. Use the mixture to fill taco shells, over

  22. chips, or inside flour tortillas.
