  1. 2 pk German chocolate cake

  2. 12 oz Evaporated milk

  3. 28 oz Caramels

  4. 12 oz Chocolate chips

  5. 1/2 c Chopped nuts

  6. 1/3 c Oleo - melted

  7. 1/2 c Flaked coconut (opt)

  1. Mix 1 pkg cake mix (dry), 1/2 c.

  2. chopped nuts, 1/3 c.

  3. oleo and 1/2 c.

  4. of the milk.

  5. spread in greased and floured 13 X 9 pan and bake at 350 until top is slightly dry.

  6. (15-20 minutes) Remove from oven and pat down with back of spoon and set aside.

  7. Melt caramels and 1/2 c.

  8. of milk in microwave.

  9. Pour over baked layer.

  10. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top and mix remaining cake mix, 1/2 c nuts, 1/3 c.

  11. oleo and the remaining milk.

  12. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto chocolate chips spreading evenly.

  13. Sprinkle with coconut and bake until cake portion is slightly dry to the touch, 25-30 minutes.

  14. chill until firm and cut into bars.
