  1. Great Northern Bean Side Salad

  2. 16 oz (453 g.) can Great Northern Beans

  3. 1 medium red onion, chopped

  4. 8 cherry tomatoes, halved or quartered

  5. 1 t (5 ml) lemon juice

  6. 1/4 c (60 ml) extra virgin olive oil

  7. Open the can of beans. Pour the beans into a colander over the

  8. sink and rinse them with cold water. Small bubbles appear. Rinse

  9. the beans until the bubbles disappear. Add the chopped onions to

  10. the beans. The onions shouldn't be chopped finely but should be

  11. bite-sized. Add the cherry tomatoes to the bowl. Add the lemon

  12. juice. You can add more or less lemon juice, depending on your

  13. taste. With a large spoon, mix the items in the bowl. Use a

  14. folding motion to mix the items. Place the bowl in the refrigerator and chill it for at least 15 minutes. Before serving the bean

  15. salad, fold in the olive oil. You can add a little salt to the

  16. salad as per your taste.
