  1. 4 Potato, Irish, large

  2. 1 Onion

  3. Parsley, fresh

  4. 2 Carrot

  5. Butter

  6. Salt; to taste

  7. Pepper; to taste

  8. 2 Ham slice, thick

  9. Milk

  1. + Peel potatoes and cut in thin slices.

  2. Mince onion, parsley, and carrots.

  3. Butter a baking dish, put in a layer of potatoes.

  4. Season with salt and pepper, then put in some of the minced vegetables; next put in a slice of raw ham cut into three or four pieces, then another layer of potatoes, repeat the seasonings, and a second slice of ham and have the top layer of potatoes.

  5. Cover with sweet milk and bake in a slow (275 to 300) oven 1-1/2 hours.
