  1. Bring a touch of the Emerald Isle to your home with these dazzling Shamrock Sugar Cookies, decorated with icing tinted with McCormick® Green Food Color.

  4. Cookies:

  5. 1 cup butter, softened

  6. 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

  7. 1 egg

  8. 2 teaspoons McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract

  9. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  10. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  11. 1 teaspoon McCormick® Cream of Tartar

  12. 1/4 teaspoon McCormick® Ground Nutmeg

  13. Emerald Isle Icing:

  14. 13 drops McCormick® Green Food Color 2-3 teaspoons milk

  15. 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

  16. 1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Combine remaining cookie ingredients and slowly add to butter mixture.

  17. 2. Chill dough. Roll to 1/8-inch thickness on lightly floured* surface and cut dough with shamrock cookie cutter. Bake on greased baking sheet 8-10 minutes or until light brown. Cool cookies completely on wire racks before decorating with green icing.

  18. 3. Icing: Mix 13 drops of green food color with milk. Combine with confectioners' sugar, stirring until color is evenly distributed and icing is smooth.

  19. 1/4 cup flour and 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar to use for dusting surface.
