    1. 2/3 c. sugar

    2. 1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch

    3. 1/2 stick butter

    4. 1/2 tsp. salt

    5. 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

    1. Combine all dry ingredients together. Add water, slowly and butter. Cook over medium heat until thickened. One teaspoon vanilla or 1 teaspoon lemon flavor (optional). Makes about 1 1/2 cups sauce.
