  1. 1/4 cup 27g / 1oz Sesame seeds

  2. 2 tablespoons 30ml Lemon juice

  3. 2 tablespoons 30ml Instant minced onion

  4. 1 teaspoon 5ml Beef flavor base

  5. 8 oz 227g Grated sharp cheddar cheese - at room temperature

  6. 2 tablespoons 30ml Mayonnaise

  7. 1 tablespoon 15ml Ketchup

  8. Melba toast and/or assorted crackers

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.

  2. Place sesame seed in shallow baking pan and toast in preheated 350F oven 15 minutes.

  3. Place lemon juice, minced onion, and flavor base in medium-size bowl and stir to combine.

  4. Add cheese, mayonnaise, and ketchup to onion mixture. Beat with electric mixer at medium speed until smooth. Shape into ball.

  5. Spread toasted sesame seed on wax paper. Roll cheese ball in sesame seed until well coated on all sides. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

  6. Serve with melba toast and/or crackers.

  7. Tip: To make cheese ball, cheese must be at room temperature.

  8. Makes about 2 cups
