  2. 5 pounds potatoes

  3. 4 large yellow onions

  4. 1/4 cup bacon drippings

  5. 20 ounces ketchup

  6. 1/2 cup Texas Pete hot sauce

  7. 1/3 cup sugar

  8. salt and pepper -- to taste

  1. Peel potatoes and onions and cut into large chunks. Place in large pot and cover with water. Add remaining ingredients, stir to blend, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are soft. Let potatoes simmer over very low heat until ready to serve, stirring occasionally.
