  2. 2 tablespoons olive oil

  3. 1/4 cup chopped onions

  4. 1 tablespoon minced garlic

  5. 3 italian plum tomatoes, finely chopped

  6. 3 oz. tomato paste

  7. 2 1/2 tablespoons italian seasoning

  8. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  9. Black pepper

  10. 1/2 stick unsalted butter, cut in pieces

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over high heat.

  2. Add onions and saute 1 minute.

  3. Stir in garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste and italian seasoning.

  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Bring to a boil and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes.

  6. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter pieces, stirring.

  7. When butter is half melted, remove skillet from heat.

  8. Continue stirring until thoroughly incorporated.
