  2. 4 veal or lamb shanks

  3. well seasoned flour

  4. 1 clove garlic -- minced

  5. 3 tablespoons olive oil

  6. 1 cup canned consomme

  7. 1/4 cup dry white wine

  8. 2 tablespoons tomato paste

  9. 1 lemon -- cut into strips ,

  10. -- rind of

  11. 3 small carrots -- finely diced

  12. 1 tablespoon parsley -- chopped

  13. 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram -- crushed

  14. 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano -- crushed

  15. 1/8 teaspoon dried sage -- crushed

Instructions Jump to Ingredients ↑

  1. Roll shanks in flour; brown with garlic in hot oil in skillet. Add remaining ingredients to crockpot. Stir to mix. Add shanks.

  2. Cover pot and cook on LOW for 10 to 12 hours until shanks are tender.

  3. Garnish with parsley. Serve with pasta.
