  1. 2 pounds lean ground beef

  2. 1/2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned oats

  3. 1/4 cup milk

  4. 1 egg, beaten

  5. 1/4 cup ketchup

  6. 1/2 cup chopped onion

  7. 3 teaspoons finely diced green pepper

  8. 1 teaspoon salt Dash pepper

  9. 8 hamburger buns Lettuce leaves, optional Sliced tomato, optional

  1. Combine first nine ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Shape into eight patties. Grill until burgers reach desired doneness. Serve on buns with lettuce and tomato if desired. Yield: 8 servings.
