  7. 1 c Flour

  8. 1 tb Sugar

  9. 1/2 ts Salt

  10. 1/2 c Vegetable oil

  11. 1 tb Milk

  12. --FILLING--

  13. 5 md Tart apples; peeled, cored,

  14. - and sliced 4 tb White -OR- brown sugar

  15. 1 tb Cornstarch

  16. 1 tb Lemon juice

  17. --CARAMEL ALMOND TOPPING--

  18. 1/4 c Butter or margarine; soft

  19. 1/2 c Sugar

  20. 2 tb Flour

  21. 2 tb Milk

  22. 1 ts Cinnamon

  23. 3 oz Almonds; sliced

  24. Sour cream

  25. In small bowl, stir together flour, sugar and salt. With fork, beat

  26. together salad oil and milk. Stir oil mix itno flour mix to make a soft

  27. 9 pie plate or 10 shallow au-gratin dish. Press

  28. edges to make sides about 1 high in gratin dish; make sides come to top of

  29. 10-12 minutes or until golden. While crust

  30. bakes, prepare apples. Mix with sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice. Turn

  31. into baked pie shell. Melt butter in skillet. Add sugar, flour, cinnamon

  32. and almonds. Boil 1 minute, stirring. Pour over apples in pan to coat

  33. 25-30 minutes or until caramel topping is golden

  34. and bubbly. Cool before serving. Excellant served with sour cream, or may

  35. serve with lightly sweetned whipped cream. --
