  7. 3 Tablespoons cooking oil

  8. 1 medium onion -- finely chopped

  9. 1/2 pound soup meat -- cut in

  10. 1 cubes

  11. 1 teaspoon paprika

  12. pinch caraway seeds -- crushed

  13. 4 cups beef stock

  14. 1 clove garlic, peeled and speared with toothpick

  15. 1/2 medium green pepper -- cut in

  16. 1/2 strips

  17. 2 small tomatoes -- fresh or canned

  18. 1/2 pound potatoes -- about 2 medium

  19. salt to taste

  20. pinched noodles -- optional

  21. Heat oil in large, heavy bottomed pan. Saute onion until it's translucent.

  22. Add meat and brown lightly.

  23. Sprinkle with paprika and caraway seeds, and add 2 cups stock. Mix

  24. thoroughly. Add garlic, green pepper and tomatoes and bring to simmer.

  25. Cover and simmer 1 hour, adding more stock as necessary to keep meat mixture

  26. covered. Peel and dice potatoes and add to soup along with salt and enough

  27. stock to cover.

  28. Simmer until potatoes are done. Remove soup from heat and let it stand.

  29. Remove garlic and skim fat. Stir in the pinched noodles, bring soup back to
