  1. Bean Layer

  2. 2 cans (16 oz each) fat-free refried beans

  3. 2 Tbsp lime juice

  4. 2 tsp chili powder

  5. 1 tsp each minced garlic, ground cumin and hot-pepper sauce

  6. Guacamole Layer

  7. 2 ripe Hass avocados

  8. 1 Tbsp each fresh lime juice and chopped cilantro

  9. 1 tsp each minced garlic and salt

  10. 3/4 cup reduced-fat sour cream

  11. 2/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

  12. Salsa Layer

  13. 1 large tomato, seeded and chopped (1 cup)

  14. 1/4 cup sliced scallions

  15. 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

  16. 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice

  17. 1/2 tsp minced garlic

  18. 1/4 tsp salt

  19. Serve with: tortilla chips

  1. Bean Layer: Mix ingredients in a bowl. With a silicone or rubber spatula, mound in center of a 12-in. or larger serving plate. Shape into a flat circle about 8 in. across.

  2. Guacamole Layer: Halve avocados; scoop flesh into a bowl. Mash with lime juice, cilantro, garlic and salt until almost smooth. Spread over bean layer. Top with sour cream; sprinkle with cheese.

  3. Salsa Layer: Mix ingredients in a bowl.

  4. To serve: Drain juices from salsa and spoon over cheese.
