  1. 3 cups brown sugar

  2. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  3. 3/4 cup water

  4. 2 egg whites -- beaten

  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Preparation : Dissolve 3 cups brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon salt in 3/4 cup of water. Cook without stirring, to hard ball stage. Pour gradually over 2 egg whites that have been beaten stiff. Beat constantly. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and continue beating until cool. Drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper
