  2. Cobbler:

  3. 1/2 cup sugar

  4. 1 tbsp. cornstarch

  5. 4 cups fresh blueberries

  6. 1 tsp. lemon juice

  7. Topping:

  8. 1 cup all purpose flour

  9. 1 tbsp. sugar

  10. 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

  11. 1/2 tsp. salt

  12. 3 tbsp. solid vegetable shortening

  13. 1/2 cup milk

  1. For Cobbler:

  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Stir together 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch in a medium saucepan. Add blueberries and lemon juice. Cook, stirring, until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Continue cooking 1 minute. Pour into an ungreased 2 quart casserole dish. Place in oven while preparing topping.

  3. For Topping:

  4. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add shortening and milk. Mix until dough forms a ball. Drop by 6 spoonfuls over the top of the cobbler. Bake, uncovered, 25 to 30 minutes until topping is golden brown. Serve warm.
