  1. 8 ounces mushroom s, sliced

  2. 4 sprigs Italian parsley , chopped fine

  3. 3 cloves fresh garlic , chopped fine

  4. 2 cups water

  5. 2 tablespoons olive oil

  6. salt and pepper, to taste

  7. 1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs , optional

  8. 1/3 pound linguine , optional

  9. grated cheese , to taste

  1. Cut ¼" or so from stem of mushrooms. Wash in cold water and slice.

  2. Place garlic, parsley, and oil in saucepot and cook until garlic is just lightly browned, taking care not to burn garlic. Add mushrooms, water, salt, and pepper and simmer 10 minutes.

  3. Serve as a side dish, with seasoned bread crumbs (add at end of cooking time), or over linguine with grated cheese.
