  1. 1 1/2 lbs 681g / 24oz Lean ground beef

  2. 1 Onion - chopped

  3. 1 cup 110g / 3.9oz Carrots - sliced

  4. 1 cup 110g / 3.9oz Celery - sliced

  5. 1 cup 237ml Cabbage - sliced

  6. 6 oz 170g Tomato paste - (1 can)

  7. 2 teaspoons 10ml Worcestershire sauce

  8. 3 cups 711ml Beef bouillon - or stock

  1. In skillet, brown hamburger and drain thoroughly. Add onion, carrots, celery and cabbage. Combine tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce and beef stock/bouillon.

  2. Add to crock pot, with Hamburger an stir to blend. Cover and cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hours, or high setting for 3 to 4 hours.

  3. NOTE: This is an updated version of an old chuck wagon recipe.

  4. They would use finely diced beef and the vegetables and let them cook all day at roundup time.
