  9. 3/4 cup sugar

  10. 2 tsp. flour

  11. 1/4 tsp. nutmeg

  12. 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

  13. 6 cups thinly sliced tart apple s

  14. 2 Tbs. margarine

  1. To make topping: Blend brown sugar, butter, flour and cinnamon with a fork until the mixture forms balls the size of peas. Stir in pecans. Set aside. To make filling: Preheat oven to 425. Sprinkle pecans on bottom of pie shell. In a seperate bowl, mix sugar, flour and spices with apple slices. Heap apples into pie shell. Dot with butter. Top with crumb mixture. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
