  2. 1/2 cup 99g / 3 1/2oz Margarine or butter

  3. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Pitted dates - cut up

  4. 1 tablespoon 15ml Skim milk

  5. 1 teaspoon 5ml Vanilla

  6. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Salt

  7. 1/4 cup 49g / 1.7oz Fat-free cholesterol-free egg product

  8. OR 1 Egg - well beaten

  9. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Chopped nuts

  10. 4 cups 584g / 20oz Wheaties® - crushed

  11. Finely chopped nuts or shredded coconut - if

  12. Desired

  1. Mix sugar, margarine and dates in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until margarine is melted; remove from heat. Mix in milk, vanilla, salt and egg. Cook over very low heat about 4 minutes, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened; remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup nuts. Cool 5 minutes. Stir in cereal. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls.
