  1. 1/3 c. molasses

  2. 2 c.

  3. 1 tbsp. buttermilk

  4. 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda

  5. 1 tsp. baking powder

  6. 1 c. flour

  7. 1 c. whole wheat flour

  8. 1 c. cornmeal

  9. 1/4 c. wheat germ

  10. 1 tsp. salt

  11. 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

  1. Grease loaf pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together in bowl molasses, buttermilk, baking soda and baking powder.

  2. In separate bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, wheat germ and salt. Add liquid ingredients to dry ingredients. Stir until moistened.

  3. Pour into pan. Bake for 1 hour. After 45 minutes, reduce to 325 degrees.
