  1. 1 cup 237ml Plain boiled rice

  2. 3/4 cup 46g / 1.6oz Chick pea flour

  3. 1/2 cup 118ml Plain yogurt

  4. Salt - to taste

  5. Sugar to taste - optional

  6. 2 Finely chopped green chillies - (to 3)

  7. 2 teaspoons 10ml Ginger paste

  8. 1 teaspoon 5ml Turmeric powder

  9. 1 teaspoon 5ml Red chilli powder

  10. Oil - to deep fry

  1. These are really tasty! They are a good way to use up leftover rice or cos they are so nice its even worth making some rice for them!

  2. *(you can leave it out if you think the green chillies are hot enough)

  3. Soak the boiled rice in the yogurt for at least an hour or even overnight. Then add the rest of the ingredients to form a usuable batter, if its too runny add a little chick pea flour. Then using your hand or a tablespoon drop small amounts of the mixture into hot oil and fry until golden brown. Don't have the oil on too hot otherwise the insides won't get done. Have with a tomato chutney or tea.
