  6. 1 lb Ground beef

  7. 1/2 c Chopped onion

  8. 8 3/4 oz Can whole kernel corn,

  9. Drained 8 oz Tomato sauce

  10. 1/2 c Chopped bell pepper

  11. 1 t Dried basil leaves

  12. 1/2 t Dried oregano leaves

  13. 1/2 t Salt

  14. 1/4 t Red pepper sauce

  15. --CORNMEAL CRUST--

  16. 1 c Flour

  17. 1/4 c Yellow cornmeal

  18. 1/4 t Salt

  19. 1/3 c Butter, softened

  20. 4 T Water

  21. --TOPPING--

  22. 1/2 c Shredded Cheddar cheese

  23. 400 degrees. Cook ground beef and onion in

  24. 10 inch

  25. skillet, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in

  26. corn, tomato sauce, bell pepper, basil, oregano, salt and pepper

  27. sauce. Prepare crust. Crust: Mix flour, cornmeal and salt in medium

  28. bowl. Stir in butter and enough of the water to make a soft dough.

  29. Press crust dough firmly and evenly against bottom and side of

  30. ungreased pie plate. Spoon beef mixture into pie plate. Bake 25

  31. minutes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake about 5 minutes longer or until

  32. cheese is melted. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
