  1. 1 c Shortening

  2. 1 c Brown sugar

  3. 2 ts Vanilla

  4. 2 c White flour

  5. 1/2 ts Baking powder

  6. 1/4 ts Salt

  7. 1/4 c Water

  8. 1/2 c Chocolate chips

  1. Beat shortening for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar and continue to beat till well blended. Add vanilla and mix well. Mix in the baking powder, salt and the flour. Beat thoroughly. Add the water, followed by the chocolate chips.

  2. Using a teaspoon, mould a teaspoonful of dough and place carefully on a cookie sheet. Bake at 350F for 10 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

  3. Makes about 54 cookies.
