  1. lg. covered casserole dish

  2. 1-1/2 lbs. ground beef or chuck

  3. 5- med. potatoes (sliced thin)

  4. 6- carrots (sliced thin)

  5. 1- 14 oz. can sweet peas (partially drained)

  6. 1- med. onion (chopped)

  7. 1- tsp. salt

  8. 1- tsp. black pepper

  9. 1/2 tsp. dry dill weed

  10. 5- Tbs. margerine

  1. Preheat oven to 325 deg.

  2. In frying pan, or pot, brown together; ground chuck, chopped onion, salt & pepper until crumbly and no longer pink. Drain most of the grease.

  3. In casserole dish, pour 1/2 of the meat mixture. Cover with 1/2 can of the sweet peas, and 1/2 of the sliced carrots. Cover this with 1/2 of the sliced potatoes. Using the rest of the gr. meat mixture, continue to layer with remaining peas and carrots. Finish off with potatoes. Put 5 Tbs. margerine around on top, dry dill weed, and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Cover and bake at 325 for one hour, or until potatoes are fork tender, and slightly browned. Yield: serves 6 Notes: I like to serve this with hot rolls, or bread and butter. It makes a complete meal, and my whole family loves it. (Even the grand kids- ages 10-12 love it and always ask for seconds).
