  1. Mandel-halbmonde (Almond Crecents)

  3. 1 cup butter

  4. 3/4 cup sugar

  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  6. 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

  7. 2 1/2 cups flour

  8. 1 cup almonds; ground

  9. confectioners' sugar

  10. Beat together butter and sugar until very light and fluffy. Blend

  11. in extracts. Mix in flour and almonds. Using about 1 T of dough

  12. for each, shape into logs and bend into crecents. Place on greased

  13. 12 to 15 minutes at

  14. 350 degrees F until light

  15. brown. While warm, roll crecents in confectioners' sugar. Cool

  16. on racks and store in a tightly sealed container. Makes 3 dozen

  17. cookies.
