  1. 1c soft butter

  2. 2c sifted flour

  3. 1/2tsp salt

  4. 1/4-1/2c powdered sugar

  5. 2tsp vanilla OR 1tsp almond extract

  6. 1-2c finely chopped nuts

  1. Mix butter with sugar until creamy.

  2. Add salt, extract, flour, nuts: mix well.

  3. Chill dough until easy to handle.

  4. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

  5. Using fingers, shape dough into 1"balls or 2 " rolls.

  6. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake 12-15 minutes until light brown.

  8. While cookies are warm roll them in powdered sugar.
