  2. 1 cup dry white wine

  3. 1/2 cup water

  4. 1 bay leaf

  5. 4 whole peppercorns

  6. 2 pounds fish fillets -- mild and firm

  7. 1 onion -- sliced

  8. 2 cloves garlic

  9. 1/2 cup pecans

  10. 2 tablespoons parsley

  11. 1/4 teaspoon saffron

  12. salt -- to taste

  13. 1/4 teaspoon ground mild red chile

  14. 1 lemon -- juice of

  1. In large skillet combine first 5 ingredients. Simmer 10 minutes Add the fish and simmer until fish flakes. Place fish on a serving platter. Remove the peppercorns and bay leaf from liquid, then pour liquid into blender. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Spoon sauce over fish. Can be garnished with lemon wedges and cilantro leaves.
