  1. 1 baked pie shell

  2. 1 c. powdered sugar

  3. 1/2 c. peanut butter

  4. 2 c. milk

  5. 1/4 tsp. salt

  6. 1/4 c. cornstarch

  7. 2/3 c. sugar

  8. 3 egg yolks

  9. 1 tsp. vanilla

  10. 2 tbsp. butter

  1. Mix powdered sugar and peanut butter until it looks like cornmeal. Spread 1/2 this mixture over baked pie shell. Save 1/2 for top of meringue.

  2. FILLING: Scald milk and add salt, cornstarch, sugar and beaten egg yolks. Cook until thickened. Add vanilla and butter. Pour into shell. Top with meringue: 3 egg whites and 6 tablespoons sugar. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter mixture on top and bake in a slow oven until brown.
