  2. TOPSY TURVY APPLE PIE

  6. 1/4 c Butter,softened

  7. 1/2 c Pecan halves

  8. 1/2 c Brown sugar

  9. Pastry for a 2 - crust,

  10. 9 pie

  11. 6 c Apples,peeled,cored & sliced

  12. 1 T Lemon juice

  13. 1/2 c Sugar

  14. 1 T Flour

  15. 1/2 t Cinnamon

  16. 1/2 t Ground nutmeg

  17. Spread butter evenly on the bottom and sides of a 9 pie plate. Press

  18. nuts,round side down,into butter on bottom of plate.Pat brown sugar

  19. evenly over nuts. Roll out pastry for bottom crust;place in pie plate

  20. over sugar. Sprinkle apples with lemon juice. Combine

  21. flour,cinnamon,nutmeg and a dash of salt.Toss with apples. Turn into pie plate;spread evenly to keep top level. Roll out remaining

  22. pastry;adjust over apples and seal.

  23. 400 degrees for 50 minutes. Remove from

  24. oven;cool 5 minutes.Place serving plate on top of pie and invert.carefully remove pie plate. Serve warm or cool. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
