  1. 12 c Unsalted popcorn

  2. 3 c Walnut halves, pecan halves

  3. And/or unblanched whole

  4. almonds

  5. 1 c Packed brown sugar

  6. 1/2 c Margarine or butter

  7. 1/4 c Light corn syrup

  8. 1/2 ts Salt

  9. 1/2 ts Baking soda

  1. One of the Betty Crocker Cookbook staff members brought this grassroots.

  2. Heat oven to 200 degrees.

  3. Divide popcorn and nuts between 2 ungreased rectangular pans, 13 X 9 X 2 inches.

  4. Cook brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbly around edges.

  5. Continue cooking 5 minutes; remove from heat.

  6. Stir in baking soda until foamy.

  7. Pour over popcorn and nuts.

  8. Toss until well coated.

  9. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

  10. ABOUT 15 CUPS SNACK; 290 CALORIES PER CUP.
