  1. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Flank steak thinly sliced - (454 gm)

  2. Marinade

  3. 2 tablespoons 30ml Soy

  4. 2 tablespoons 30ml Tamarind liquid - (or lemon juice)

  5. 1 Onion - (chopped)

  6. 2 Garlic

  7. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Laos powder

  8. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Sambal ulek

  9. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Pepper

  10. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Shrimp paste - (trasi)

  11. 2 tablespoons 30ml Peanut oil

  12. 1/2 cup 118ml Coconut milk

  13. 3 Curry leaves

  14. 1 Lemon grass

  15. 2 teaspoons 10ml Palm sugar - (or dark brown sugar)

  1. Blend together the first four ingredients into a smooth paste mix in the next four ingredients Heat oil and fry the paste until it turns brown add the meat and fry for one minute Add the remaining ingredients and simmer until sauce is very thick.

  2. Thread meat on skewers and broil until well browned.

  3. Serve with peanut sauce.

  4. I generally add more tamarind or lemon juice and more chile or sambal to the peanut sauce recipes.
