  1. 3/4 pound fresh tomatillo s, husked and rinsed

  2. 1 jalapeno , seeded and quartered*

  3. 1/4 to 1/3 cup packed fresh cilantro leaves

  4. 1 clove garlic

  5. Salt to taste

  6. 3 avocado s

  7. Juice of half a lime

  1. In a saucepan, simmer the fresh tomatillos, in salted boiling water to cover, for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are tender, transfer them with a slotted spoon to a bowl. Let stand to cool. In a blender or food processor puree the tomatillos with the cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice and garlic clove. Add salt to taste. Transfer the mixture to a bowl(not metal). Halve, pit and chop the avocados into the salsa and serve with your favorite tortilla chips.
