  2. 1/2 cup soy sauce

  3. 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  4. 1/3 cup peeled, minced fresh ginger

  5. 2 tbsp. rice vinegar

  6. 1 tbsp. minced fresh garlic

  7. 1/2 tsp. pepper

  8. 1 1/2 pounds flank steak

  1. Stir together soy sauce, vegetable oil, ginger, rice vinegar, garlic and pepper in a large bowl. Add the flank steak to the bowl and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate steak 1 hour, turning occasionally. Prepare grill.

  2. Remove the steak from the marinade and place on an oiled grill rack. Grill steak about 8 minutes for medium rare. Transfer grilled steak to a cutting board and let stand 5 minutes. Slice flank steak thinly, against the grain, and serve.
