  1. Crust:

  2. 1 package German chocolate cake mix

  3. 1/3 cup margarine, softened

  4. 1 large egg

  5. Filling:

  6. 448 g cream cheese, room temperature

  7. 2 large eggs

  8. 3/4 cup sugar

  9. 2 tsp. vanilla extract

  10. Topping:

  11. 2 cups sour cream

  12. 1/4 cup sugar

  13. 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

  1. For Crust:

  2. Grease the inside of a 13x9 inch baking pan. Combine cake mix, margarine and egg in a large bowl and mix until crumbly. Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.

  3. For Filling:

  4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat together cream cheese, eggs, sugar and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth and fluffy. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the prepared crust. Bake cheesecake about 20 to 25 minutes until edges are browned.

  5. For Topping:

  6. Stir together sour cream, sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth. Spread the topping over the warm cheesecake. Bake an additional 5 minutes until topping is set. Remove cheesecake from the oven and refrigerate at least 8 hours before slicing and serving.
