  1. 20 dried red chile peppers - washed, with stems and seeds removed

  2. 5 cups water

  3. 1 teaspoon dried, crushed Mexican oregano

  4. 3 cloves garlic, crushed salt to taste

  1. Wash dried peppers and remove stems and seeds. Place in a blender or food processor with the water, oregano, garlic, and a pinch or two of salt. Blend on high until peppers are thoroughly pureed, pulsing occasionally. Adjust seasoning with salt, if needed.
