  1. 500g bheerakaayalu (ribbed gourd), peeled

  2. 100g onions, chopped

  3. 1 tsp chili powder

  4. 2 tsp khus khus seeds

  5. 1 tsp coriander seeds

  6. 1 tsp cumin seeds

  7. 4 cloves

  8. 2 pieces cinnamon

  9. Small piece ginger

  10. 3 garlic flakes

  11. 2 tbsp coconut, grated

  12. 70g oil

  13. Salt to taste

  1. Mix onions, khus khus seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, ginger-garlic, coconut, chili powder, salt and blend them to a smooth paste.

  2. Cut the bheerakaaya into four sides lengthwise to three-fourth and stuff the above mixture.

  3. Place them in a wide pan, pour oil, cover the pan and cook until it is done.

  4. Garnish with cilantro leaves, if desired.
