  1. 1 1/2 lbs 681g / 24oz Very lean ground beef

  2. 1 1/2 teaspoons 7 1/2ml Salt - , or to taste

  3. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Garlic - , minced

  4. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Freshly ground black pepper

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Dried thyme

  6. 1/4 cup 59ml Water

  7. 1/2 cup 118ml Ketchup

  8. 24 cups 5688ml Fresh mushrooms - , stems removed (large)

  9. Melted butter or margarine

  1. Combine the beef with the salt, garlic, pepper, thyme, water and ketchup. Season the mushrooms by dipping them in melted butter and sprinkling lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. Place them open-side-up in a greased shallow pan. Stuff them generously with the ground beef mixture.

  3. Broil for about 5 minutes (or to your taste). Serve hot. Can be topped with a dab of mustard or sour cream.
