  2. SHIITAKE MUSHROOM GRAVY

  6. 1 tb Sesame oil

  7. 1 1/4 c Mushrooms, shiitake -- finely

  8. -chopped

  9. 2 ts Agar-agar -- dissolved in

  10. -cup boiling water

  11. 1 1/2 ts Salt

  12. 3/4 ts Black pepper

  13. In a small saucepan, brown the onions in sesame oil

  14. for 5 minutes. Stir in the mushrooms and cook an

  15. 3 to 4 minuts over medium heat. The mixture

  16. should be dark brown when done. Add the remaining

  17. ingredients and cook over medium heat for an

  18. additional 3 minutes till gravy thickens. Serve over

  19. rice or crepes.

  20. Yield: 1 1/4 cups
