  6. 4 c Flour

  7. 1 c Brown sugar

  8. 1 c Golden syrup

  9. 4 Eggs

  10. 1 c Butter

  11. -or drippings

  12. 1 lb Currants

  13. 1 lb Sultana raisins

  14. 1/2 lb Candied orange peel

  15. 4 tb Nut meats, chopped

  16. 3 ts Baking powder

  17. 1/4 ts Salt

  18. 1/2 c Fruit juice

  19. 1 t Cinnamon

  20. 1 t Cloves

  21. 1 t Allspice

  22. 2 ts Ginger

  23. 1/2 ts Nutmeg

  24. Directions: Sift together the flour, salt, spices and baking powder. Cream

  25. the butter and gradually add the sugar, then add the eggs well beaten. Then

  26. add the syrup, fruit, nut meats,peel chopped fine, the fruit juice and the

  27. flour. Mix and turn into a papered cake tin and bake in a slow oven for 3

  28. hours. This reciped was transcribed from my Grandma Dixon's handwritten

  29. recipe book used by her during the first quarter of this century.
