  1. 250 g lean braising steak , cubed

  2. 250 g new potatoes

  3. 2 tsp seasoned flour

  4. 1 tsp oil

  5. 1 onion , chopped

  6. 1/2 red pepper , chopped

  7. 1 clove garlic , crushed

  8. 1 tsp paprika

  9. 200 g canned chopped tomatoes

  10. 1 tbsp tomato puree

  11. 150 ml beef stock

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4.

  2. Toss the steak in the seasoned flour. Heat the oil in a flameproof casserole dish, add the steak and fry for 2-3 minutes until browned all over.

  3. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to the boil, then cover and place in the oven and cook for 1½-2 hours until the meat is tender. Serve with plenty of vegetables.
