  6. 3 c Flour

  7. 1 t Salt

  8. 1/2 ts Each:allspice, nutmeg,

  9. Cinnamon

  10. 1/4 c Sugar

  11. 1 Stick butter, melted

  12. 1 Egg beaten

  13. 3/4 c Currents or raisins

  14. 1/3 c Candied citron fruit

  15. Yeast mixture:

  16. 1 tb Dry yeast

  17. 1 tb Sugar

  18. 2/3 c Warm milk

  19. 1/2 c Warm water

  20. 1 c Flour

  21. Glaze:

  22. 2 tb Milk

  23. 2 tb Water

  24. 3 tb Sugar

  25. Begin by making the yeast mixture, mixing all

  26. ingredients and setting it aside to proof ( foam ).In

  27. another bowl sift flour, salt, spice and sugar. Add

  28. fruits and mix well. Combine butter and eggs and add

  29. to yeast mixture. Then add to flour mixture. Knead

  30. 8 to 10 minutes or smooth

  31. and elastic. add more flour if needed to keep dough

  32. from sticking. Divide into 12 equal pieces and shape

  33. into round buns. Place rolls far apart on greased

  34. baking sheet. Cover and let rise at warm room

  35. temperature for 45 minutes. Use a sharp knife to make

  36. an X shape cut on surface of dough. Bake in a 425

  37. 15 to 20 minutes or golden. Cool on rack.

  38. Make glaze by bringing ingredients to a boil in small

  39. saucepan for 2 minutes. Brush glaze over buns thickly. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
